Connection, confidence and wellbeing

Mental health

We support the broad field of community work that helps people protect their wellbeing, reduce isolation and access steady, practical support.

01

More than a moment of crisis

Community mental health work can provide trusted relationships, accessible activity and continuity before, during and after periods of acute difficulty.

The clearest proposals explain the gap an organisation is responding to and how its approach complements, rather than overstates, the role of clinical or statutory services.

02

Show how support works

Describe the setting, frequency and character of support. Explain how people hear about it, how barriers to participation are addressed and how safeguarding or referral needs are managed.

Outcomes should be proportionate to the work. Confidence, connection, routine and the ability to seek further help can all be meaningful when explained carefully.

03

Keep people at the centre

Use language that respects agency and avoids defining people by diagnosis. If lived experience shapes service design, explain the method without sharing private or identifying information.
