Safety, recovery and rebuilding

Domestic violence

We are interested in specialist organisations helping survivors find safety, recover from abuse and rebuild with greater security and control.

01

Specialist, survivor-centred work

Safety and choice should be visible in the design of services as well as in their language. Explain the organisation’s specialist role and how people can access support safely.

Do not include identifiable case histories in an initial enquiry. A clear account of need, approach and organisational capability is enough to begin a conversation.

02

From immediate safety to recovery

Organisations may work at different points: crisis response, advocacy, practical help, therapeutic support or longer-term recovery. State where the work sits and what it is equipped to provide.

Where partnership working is important, describe how the service connects with relevant local agencies without overstating those relationships.

03

Safeguarding and confidentiality

An enquiry should show that privacy, risk and safeguarding are integral to delivery. Keep detail proportionate and do not transmit sensitive personal data unless it is specifically and securely requested.
